- What if you’d never seen colour?
What if you’d never seen colour?
Black & white photography is often seen as an abstract, a mood piece, a way of reducing things to their essence. A scene with the colour stripped out.
What if our thinking was reversed?
What if, instead of questioning whether a scene would lend itself to black and white, we used black & white as a starting point and asked ourselves whether a scene would look better with colour?
If you had never seen colour, what would you find beautiful? What sort of photographs would you take?
Starting rather than ending at the essence of a subject. Would the craft be different? Would our conversations be different?
