The person behind the lens
Sean Walker

My name is Sean, I’m the monochromat in monochromatter. Since birth I’ve only seen in black & white or more accurately in shades of grey. Through my photography, I hope to show that the world in black & white monochrome is beautiful.
My photography dispenses with the distraction of colour, my pure monochrome vision, combined with a Black & White camera mean my images aren’t just captured in monochrome, they are seen that way. This is a pure and natural process, the traditional hallmarks of monochrome photography (light, contrast, texture and shape) are the way I navigate the world.
When I look at a scene, I don’t need to wonder how it will convert to monochrome, I simply appreciate beauty as I see it and attempt to capture it through the lens.
My photography is monochrome in its purest form. I hope to show that the world is a fascinating, beautiful place, regardless of how you view it.
